If you have time, volunteering is a great way to benefit your commonity in need. The Micah House and many other shelters are not have their regular flow of volunteers, but will eventually open the programs back up when the pandemic slows down. At MOHMS place you can volunteer at their soup kitchen. They take volunteers from age eight and up. The Micah House normally has programs like the Buddy Program, Childcare and Youth, Delivery Drivers, Serving Meals, Donation Organizers, and Board memberships. To learn more, go to the MOHMS Place and Micah House websites.
There are so many possible places to bring your donations. If you want to donate, you always should watch out for events and programs at your school. Some of the many shelters aroung the area are always looking for more donations. The Care and Share House has two locations for people to drop off items. Unlike a lot of buildings, the Care and Share House have continued to stick with their regular hours. During these hours you can drop off your donations, both clothes and canned foods. MOHMS Place would like anyone who is donating to call and schedule a drop off time. To donate to the Micah House, the shelter would like donations to be given at their east garage from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. only their the week days and not the weekends.
