The Micah House was established in 1986. It is a place that provides many things to those who come to it. The Micah House provides food, shelter, television, a place to freshen up, and even charge their phones. During the Pandemic, people can also go to the Micah House to stay safe while quarentining.
Like the Micah House, MOHMS place provides many things to those around Council Bluffs. The shelter provides them a safe place to stay, hygiene items, and access to the food pantry. The shelter also provides financial and case managments to help with their difficult situations. Similar to the Micah House, MOHMS place is giving people a place to quarentine. The shelters periodically try to find people a place to go if they have no available room in the buildings.
The Care & Share House is a non-profit organization. It has no paid workers and is run fully by volunteers. The group is supported by the Methodist Churches around Council Bluffs. The organization has a free food pantry to provide for those around Council Bluffs. They also have a free clothes store. They allow people who are struggling to obtain nice clothes and household items. They try to help everyone in need and make sure they feel like real people who should be treated with respect.
